Royal Navy Apprenticeship Programme – The new home of the Royal Navy Apprenticeship Programme, the RAMSEY Building at COLLINGWOOD at Fareham has a key role in not only seeking accreditation of core Royal Navy training from Nationally Recognised awards, it also has a wider role to support the Government’s initiative to improve the nation’s Literacy, Numeracy and ICT skills through delivery of the Functional Skills agenda.   The RAMSEY Building is also home to the Education and Resettlement Centre and dedicated Coaching for Training Network, both of which exist to unlock the potential that within all sailors and prepare them for the eventual transition back to civilian life.     Construction of RAMSEY Building commenced in September 2010 and was completed last November (2011).   To formally open the new facility recently Major General Charles A. Ramsay CB QBE, RM, performed the honours.   Major General Ramsay is of curse the son of the late Admiral Sir Bertram Ramsay KCB, KBE, MVO the guiding had that saw success at Dunkirk (1940), and went on the lead many of the major amphibious landings in Europe during the Second World War.
