WILDCAT Trials - The next generation small helicopter for the Fleet Air Arm set down on the back of a Type 23 Frigate LANCASTER in the English Channel, which hosted the new helicopter.  Some 28 WILDCAT are due to enter service with the Fleet Air Arm from 2015.   The reason for the demomstration was that a delegation of South Korean officers, on an eight day tour of the UK was onboard as they are to buy a new helicopter to fly from their FFX-class frigates which are due in service from 2013.     The actual aircraft was an Army variant and was only the second time WILDCAT has gone to sea with a Royal Navy – earlier this year extensive trials were carried out around the UK on the Type 23 Frigate IRON DUKE.
