Exercise FRUKUS – The Baltic exercise included the French Destroyer DE GRASSE, the Russian Frigate YAROSLAV MUDRY, the US Navy Cruiser NORMANDY and the (British) Type 42 Destroyer YORK.   The YORK seemingly had some technical issues but these were resolved.   The history of the FRUKUS exercise goes back to 1988. Initially, it was called RUKUS because of participating countries (Russia + UK + US) and from 1993 France was invited to attend and it became FRUKUS with the exercise conducted every year from 2003 with the view to improve cooperation between Russian, French, British, and US Navy with each providing one warship.
