Falkland Fallout - Argentina has dramatically turned away two British cruise ships from its shores after they had visited the Falklands Islands as part of their current cruising voyages. The Carnival Cruise owned ADONIA (P&O Cruises/Southampton) and STAR PRINCESS (Princess Cruises/Fort Lauderdale) were turned back by port officials in Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego).      More than 1,000 British passengers were among the 3,250 on board the two ships, which were forced to abandon the Argentine port of call and head straight on to their next destination in Chile. British diplomats in Argentina are urgently seeking to clarify the circumstances surrounding this incident. Both vessels – which recently left Port Stanley have seemingly been caught up in a diplomatic “spat” to make a political point. Ushuaia City tourism chiefs” described the ban as ‘economic suicide’ and claimed holidaymakers were being unfairly targeted.
