Falkland Bound – The Type 45 Destroyer DAUNTLESS departed to the South Atlantic as part of “routine operations” - the Ministry of Defence says it is a "pre-planned and routine" six month deployment in the South Atlantic.    With the demise of the Type 42 Destroyers and Type 22 Frigates limits the options of the MoD are limited but the decision to sail the ship south one day shy of the 30th anniversary that a British task force left to liberate the Falkland Islands sends a clear message to all.   In theory the DAUNTLESS could wipe out the entire, ageing Argentinean air force alone.   This is the first operational deployment of the DAUNTLESS which commissioned in 2010.
