LYNX HAS.3 Finished – the LYNX HAS.3 Anti-Submarine Helicopter is no more – at the end of their operational lives the last airframe has departs RNAS Yeovilton and the associated LYNX 3 Simulator is also to be withdrawn from service.   The Simulator entered service with the Royal Navy in April 1980.      The guest of honour for the occasion was His Royal Highness the Duke of York, who flew the last sortie in the Simulator alongside one of the pilot instructors.    The Duke of York trained in the Simulator in 1984 prior to joining the Type 22 Frigate BRAZEN and then again in 1989 prior to become the Flight Commander on the Type 22 Frigate CAMPELTOWN and later would be back at the Simulator as he prepared to become the Senior Pilot/815 Naval Air Squadron.
