AMBUSH Commissioned – the Fleet Submarine AMBUSH has officially commissioned into the Royal Navy and has joined sister ship ASTUTE in the silent service.    The AMBUSH was formally handed over to the Silent Service in mid January 2013 and is now commissioned.   The AMBUSH will now start exploring the full range of the submarine’s capabilities before entering full operational service later this year.    The third of this class, the ARTFUL is expected to enter service in 2015 and then there is a huge gap waiting the new vessels.   The in service dated for the rest of this class is currently quoted as AUDACIOUS (January 2018), ANSON (August 2020), AJAX (May 2022) and AGAMEMNON (March 2024).
