War Patrols - The RN Submarine Museum at Gosport has created an exhibition highlighting personal memories of submariners who served in the South Atlantic three decades ago.   Falklands 30 features the war patrols of the Fleet Submarines CONQUEROR, COURAGEOUS, SPLENDID and VALIANT.   The CONQUEROR achieved “fame” of course by the sinking of the Argentine cruiser GENERAL BELGRANO on the 90 day patrol undertaken, but this event often has lead to the invaluable work done by the other Fleet Submarines to be overlooked.     Four nuclear powered Fleet Submarines, working in concert 8,000 miles from “home”, was (and remains) a powerful affirmation of maritime power projection.
