MERSEY Jersey – the Patrol Vessel MERSEY of the Fishery Protection Squadron together with other naval forces attended the three day Jersey Boat Show, the MERSEY taking time out from enforcing internationally agreed fishing quotas around UK waters including the Channel Islands.     Two Fast Patrol Boats BLAZER and SMITER of the University Royal Naval Units, (Southampton and Oxford respectively), together with two Royal Marine Offshore Raiding Craft from 539 Assault Squadron RM, plus a LYNX HMA.8 from 815 Naval Air Squadron, Fleet Air Arm were also present.   The whole naval presence was enhanced by a Royal Naval Physical Training Team, representatives of the affiliated Type 23 Frigate IRON DUKE also attended and providing the whole naval flavour of the event was the Royal Marines Band from COLLINWOOD.
